The opening

I'm Anwin Mbah. Born in London to Cameroonian diplomats. Raised through embassy postings to Italy, France, the US, and back to the UK. Boarding school in Italy. Five languages before I ever opened a balance sheet.

That upbringing gave me cultural fluency in sophisticated international environments long before I had any technical understanding of what those rooms were doing. It's part of what makes this practice possible. It's not the whole of it.

The rest came from two decades inside regulated financial institutions.

HSBC Private Bank, where I defined the MiFID II regulatory structure that secured millions in cost savings from regulatory breach fines and trained over 200 trading staff, lifting user adoption by 21.3%. National Commercial Bank Jamaica, where I led the build of a wealth management platform on a $1m budget. Zurich Financial Services, overseeing requirements management across 14 work streams. Natixis, Mediobanca, Azimut, IG. Lloyds Banking Group, where my career started: six years as a Business Account Adviser to small and growing businesses.

Two decades of work, distilled into a single observation that became this practice.

The observation that became a practice.

The thing I noticed inside HSBC Private Bank was specific.

A significant proportion of the ultra-high-net-worth clients we served were business owners. The way they thought about their money — how they structured their business, their finances, their decisions — was fundamentally different from how the average business owner outside the bank operated. Same human capability. Different financial architecture.

That's when the principle clicked. The wealth-building strategies deployed for the ultra-high-net-worth had almost nothing to do with their income levels. They were structural and behavioural.

The average business owner I'd worked with was building income. The clients I saw inside private banking were building wealth. The difference was architecture.

That is what Wealthfluency closes. Bringing the structural thinking that lives inside private banking to the business owners who would otherwise never see it, while it still matters most.

Who I serve now.

I work with established CEOs generating real revenue who can't feel it in their bank account, their margins, or their pay. They have a bookkeeper. They have an accountant. They have a business coach somewhere in the past or present. The life behind the practice.

I run Wealthfluency as a location-independent practice. London origin, six years a digital nomad, with long stays in Italy, France, and Jamaica. Mum of two boys. Wife. Former Board Treasurer of the Women Entrepreneurs Network of the Caribbean.

The location-independent practice is the proof of concept. The financial architecture I install for clients is the same architecture that lets my own business support a life I actually want to live.
